Podcast Tonight

Time has gotten away from me again. I was going to write a quick little piece celebrating Robin Ventura on his 43rd birthday, but I've been on a bit too much of an underappreciated-3Bs kick lately, so you can probably almost write what I was going to write yourself. Ventura was really, really good. Not a Hall of Famer, but it's a crime that Ventura fell off the ballot in his first year while Harold Baines will appear on his fifth in 2011. But anyway.

No, I'm not going to write that article. Instead, I'm going to talk about something we're apparently doing tonight: a podcast. The Common Man, Lar from Wezen-Ball and I are planning to get together, internetically (shut up it's a word), and talk about baseball for an hour. You'll be able to follow along live at 10:00 central time, or recorded at some point thereafter, at this link. If you're there live, there's apparently going to be a chat room or something.

This site requires you to connect by telephone, and it's not a toll-free number, and I don't have long distance, and my cell phone doesn't work in my house. So I'm planning to do this from the patio of the Irish pub down the street from my house, with no computer or anything. Should be an interesting experiment. Hope you'll check it out!

Oh, and enjoy the shaky second-hand video of the great Robin Ventura getting pummeled by the much, much older Nolan Ryan before MLBAM takes it down (not sure how it's lasted close to two months, actually):
