Hanley Ramirez!
H-Ram turns 26 today. And as awesome as he's been, I guess I was under the impression that his sustained awesomeness at such a young age was truly rare. And it is, I guess, but pretty far from the most impressive start a shortstop has ever had. Check out this comparison through their age 25 seasons, ferinstance:

I've really got no comment to that, since he doesn't need to be as good as A-Rod or have been a superstar since age 20 in order to be a great, great player. And Hanley is third among all shortstops through that age (min. 1000 PA) in OPS+, behind A-Rod and #1 Arky Vaughan. And he's already produced about as many wins above replacement as Hall of Famer Freddie Lindstrom did in his entire career, for whatever that's worth. I guess all that I'm saying is that young A-Rod was (and aging A-Rod continues to be) pretty freaking amazing.
