I spent about an hour last night trying to think of something I might feel like writing about for today. It didn't work.
So I think this site needs to become a little less Daily for a couple weeks (you may have noticed that's already happened, mostly for reasons out of my control). I'll only post something if I really have something to say. I'll spend the rest of that time (a) with family; (b) working; (c) on non-baseball writing; and (d) thinking about why I started this blog, what I really want to say, and how I can start saying it better. I'll come back full-time on or around Tuesday, December 1, rejuvenated and better than ever (not that that's a particularly haughty goal right now). There will still be three whole months of offseason before Spring Training starts (that sounds like way too long right now) for lots of posts about random days in history, esoteric metrics and people who happened to be born on a given date.
But again, there will probably be a thing or two going up here between now and then (especially if there's more postseason award silliness to gripe about or a big free agent signing or trade). So I hope you'll keep checking back. Of course, if you've got me on an RSS reader, become a fan on Facebook or follow me on Twitter, that work is done for you...
